WVR is planning the hydrogen production plant project in West Terre Haute, Indiana which will be a net-zero carbon emission facility through the innovative retrofit of the existing Wabash Gasification Plant with the deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Biomass Processing. The Wabash Valley Resources team is committed to safely designing, procuring, constructing, and commissioning the new facility. Job Description:
Interface with EPC FEED contractor and technology vendors to review Equipment Specifications, P&ID, HMBs, etc. for the new facilities.
Oversee the integration of the Gasification plant with new facilities. It is critical that tie-ins and utility flows are correctly configured for the overall facility
Assist the biomass procurement manager with all aspects of biomass procurement and logistics planning.
Assist in the development of capital and operating cost estimates for the new integrated facility
Participate in basic project management activities required for successful execution (schedules, work plans, resource forecasting, meetings, action items, etc). Provide basic organization and document control for the project
Provide input into site procedures, practices, and policies
Demonstrate commitment to safety in all aspects of the job – take an active role in maintaining a safety-first culture
Prepare for the transition to eventual construction, commissioning, and operations of the project
Communicate ideas, concepts, and instructions orally and in writing
Interface effectively with a variety of people, such as engineers, plant personnel, supervision, management, contract craftsmen, service groups, and vendors
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience in biomass processing (steam explosion, torrefaction, etc) and biomass energy conversion.
Problem solving and resolution expertise and capability
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skill
Possess good general knowledge of PC software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and able to utilize electronic document management and maintenance management software.
Willing and able to:
Climb stairs/ladders,
In/out of process vessels,
Work at height
Work in all outside weather conditions including inclement weather
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
Move to the Terre Haute area within 6 months of hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
PE license
10 years of experience biomass or related field
Experience in gasification processes
Direct experience in design, construction or commissioning biomass processing and gasification equipment
Have a broad understanding of fundamental project controls principles of cost and schedule management and risk management.
